Family Group Photos

I'm always scouting for whole-family pics of our ancestors.  You know, ones with the parents and all the kids in one picture.  Not as common as you might think.  For many families in our clan I haven't been able to find one.  Like Tracey's dad's family.  I have one with him and his two brothers, but not one with his parents, too.  I had to look hard to find any for my natal family.  One was from a church directory.  Our xmas card photos always had all the kids, but never mom and dad.  Here are the three I found.

I love this one.  I think it was for our Christmas card, 1967 or so.  Mom and dad were both way in to music, so we all played an instrument. 

My mom took regular photos of us, but this one was unusual because she's in it.  Don't know if she had bought a tripod or what.  Ca 1976 at our home, 4013 29th St in Des Moines, IA.

My dad's side.  I'd never seen this photo before I found it in some negatives buried in a box.  My dad and his sister never had a print of it to my knowledge.  Their folks separated by around 1930, so they weren't all together very often.

My mom's family.  Carl Robert Swanson, Gertrude Theonore Stocke Swanson, Barbara Jean Swanson (Severs), Carl August Swanson.  Probably St Paul, MN ca 1941.  My mom never had this photo and I'd never seen it before I found the negative in a cache after my dad died.  I told my uncle about it and he swore that there must be many such pictures, but this is the only one I know of in which they all appear. 

My mom's dad's family.  Selma Peterson Swanson, Carl August Swanson, August Stephen Swanson.  Ted Swanson in front.  They lived in Merriam Park, St Paul,  MN.  This is from ca 1915.  Carl and Ted were almost 15 years apart.  This is the only photo I have of all of them together.

Here we have Hannah Franklin Metcalf and William Metcalf.  They're the parents of Margaret Metcalf Bradwell, mother of Belle Bradwell Johnston, Quinn's 3m.  The boy is Margaret's brother, Tom.  The girl is a niece.  England, ca 1870.  This one doesn't make the grade for a family group shot, but we have so few pictures of Quinn's English ancestors, I couldn't resist.
